Feather on the Wind -ch 3The sun shone feebly from a cloudy sky, painting the streets of Redmond with a jaundiced glow. Slumped in the passenger seat of Twytch's car Benzie stared sightlessly out at the grubby sidewalks and forlorn looking buildings, lost in thought. Working for a dragon was a bad idea. Refusing to work for a dragon was probably an even worse idea. Telling your incredibly protective best friend that you're working for a dragon and going spelunking in a ghoul nest on the same morning? She shuddered slightly at the memory. "You're going where?" Finn's voice had been deceptively mild. She had repeated her destination along withFeather on the Wind -ch 3
Feather on the Wind- Ch 2The sickly sweet smell of blood in the cab was overpowering. Even when the ash began to reappear in force Benzie left the windows down. She was just trying to secure her respirator in place, driving with one knee on the bottom of the steering wheel, both hands at work to hold her hair back and buckle the mask in place, when the trid unit on the dash suddenly came to life. The screen lit and glowing green text accompanied by a polite beep indicated an incoming call. She glanced in frustration at Twytch's tail light ahead of her, muttering under her breath about being the only one in the vehicle. She could barely run her own comlink let alone aFeather on the Wind- Ch 2
Feather on the Wind Ch 1The world was a dark place, stifling in its heat and absence of fresh air. Blindly Benzie struggled. The scent of her own sweat filled her nostrils, she flailed, her arms, groping towards an unseen goal. Like a slow moving landslide she slid from her confinement and landed with a soft thump on the bare boards of the floor. Instantly she began to rethink her decision to wake up as white light seared her eyes. With a mutter of protest she rolled gracelessly over and shimmied back up the side of the mattress and into the welcoming oblivion of her bedding. Mornings never had been her favorite time of day, even when they came at four in the afternFeather on the Wind Ch 1
